About QuasiconQuasiCon is a free, annual, one-day information science conference hosted by the student chapter of the American Library Association at the University of Michigan School of Information. The conference aims to connect information professionals from all fields, from librarians to UX professionals, with students in order to build conference skills and facilitate networking in a context that also serves as a safe space to share experiences and ideas.
QuasiCon combines traditional conference elements, such as panel discussions, presentations, and keynote speakers, with interactive elements, such as breakout sessions and brainstorms. We welcome a range of presentation formats, from panel discussions, poster sessions, and workshops to lightning talks and tech demonstrations. QuasiCon seeks to create an energetic and productive conference that is supportive, collegial, and friendly, especially to graduate students and young professionals who are striving to develop professional confidence. |
