North Carolina State University Libraries Fellows Program: Info Session
North Carolina State University will be at UMSI recruiting for their Library Fellowship.
The NCSU Libraries Fellows Program offers new librarians a two-year appointment during which you develop expertise in a functional area and contribute to an initiative of strategic importance. Fellows are fully integrated members of the library faculty performing as entry-level librarians half time in a home department. The remaining time is devoted to a project in an area outside the home department. Projects support strategic initiatives while providing concrete and innovative opportunities for Fellows to interact with librarians from other departments and achieve at a professional level.
Each year, the Libraries' departments submit proposals for potential Fellows' assignments relating to one of the Libraries' major initiatives. Fellows have played central roles in many of the Libraries signature efforts such as Makerspace and Virtual Reality services, the Alt-Textbook project (open educational resources), and large-scale visualization. Fellows have also worked on projects relating to the development of new service models, learning spaces, and enriching the user and visitor experience.
This event is co-sponsored with the student organization American Library Association UM Student Chapter (ALA).
